An Indian Summer

Raindrops from the sunset fell,
As knives of fire ruptured the cloudy canvas.
The infant light awakened the world
To a flaxen delight.
Dewdrops – rainbows lit up
With sun-soaked yesterdays –
Dance upon fields of grass –
Ablaze with the fiery green of an Indian summer.
