Just A Word?

Hurricanes lash across
sky, sea and earth.
Killing the warmth and
the glow of the hearth.
Windy drizzles
cool our ground,
Quenching the thirst of
parched leaves.

The warm light of a flame
fills a room,
As oil seeps in – it’s used.
Foisting floods of oil
snuff out the warmth,
Extinguishing the life.

A warm light –
Worrying and trembling,
Spills into a raging fire.
A cold word
Swells into a frosty
cold world.
