Pearls of water sparkling
in the sunshine; The water
chatters down the pebbles..
Droplets swoop in through the wind –
tiny needles of glittering cold.
The water swans in
through the bushes,
Sashays around the rocks;
A sudden blur of colour:
Birds – those flighty friends of the water –
dive down into a kiss.
Waves cascade down the overhang,
Into a plunge pool, they splash.
Through the bubbles, gold fins sail –
Captains of little kids’ boatlings.
